Synergy

Synergy undertook an entire business transformation project, of which the online component was an essential component to delivering several key objectives.

Primarily the new website needed to move traditionally labour intensive methods of client communication and service, online. I led the user experience and interface component of this project, meeting with key client stakeholders, developing the user experience flows and the look and feel of the interface designs.

The site is driven by a content management system that is built on a modular system of templates that can be combined in numerous ways to present many forms of content.

Lifehouse

The Lifehouse project posed a series of challenges: the client needed a site very quickly (with a 3 week turn-around), cheaply (they are not-for-profit organisation) and they needed a design that looked professional yet not decadent.

My solution was to work quickly and closely with the client, using wireframes to agree on content types and functionality, and later designing a single template that provided flexibility within the content management system. Additionally multimedia content was hosted on social media sites flickr and youtube, which helped to maintain a "grass roots" feel and reduced development and integration time of video players and slideshows.

AMP Silver Surfers Social Network

AMP undertook an intensive online strategy piece that required a significant amount of business case development. Several business cases required visual mock-ups to supplement the written components.

This screen was one of several developed to help capture business requirements, and communicate to a senior group of stakeholders what the end-state-vision was for a particular business case.

Rugby League World Cup

National Rugby League came to us with an open brief, to create a mini-site promoting the Rugby League World Cup that had a viral component. The site needed to contain a competition, for which the prize had already been decided, a chance to travel around Australia and watch the Roos play rugby league against an international line-up.

The result was a site that promoted the four World Cup cities by allowing users to insert their face into a photograph of the Roos on tour, and send this photograph on to a series of friends, encouraging them to enter and buy tickets.

Sports Modern Gladiators

National Rugby League were hosting a State of Origin game in Victoria for the first time in many years. In order to encourage Melburnians to attend a match that is typically built on NSW and QLD rivalry, they developed a gladiatorial theme for the campaign.

The online component of the campaign was developed in parallel with the offline components, and with very little branding guidance. A significant amount of visual research was required to achieve an authentic gladiatorial look and feel, while also retaining the integrity of a Rugby League match.

Recipics

A Visual Recipe System

My final year of study at the University of Technology Sydney involved a 6 month design project. During this time I researched, designed and developed a visual language that allowed recipes to be presented without words.

Much to my amazement, some images of my work that I had posted on flickr were picked up by the web community, and subsequently featured in hundreds of blogs, several exhibitions and even the New York Times.
